Blizzard of 2011

I survived the Blizzard of '93.  Don't laugh, people actually sold shirts, and I walked to a wedding 1 mile away where 1/2 of the wedding party wasn't even there.  It has been a long time since we actually needed all that bread and milk we have stocked up every time Glen Burns tell us...the storm is coming.   Well, give that man a raise, because it came.  It is deep and beautiful and city stopping.  Barely anyone is at work and everyone is sledding on anything they can find in the garage.  You can tell the neighbors that moved down here from the North, since they have all the correct equipment and are driving up and down the road just to make everyone else mad.  The kids couldn't wait to get outside, so we just let them run out in front of us...then we realized that they were so little that they couldn't walk in snow that deep.  Oh, well maybe it snowed a little more than we thought.  Callie lasted much longer than expected before asking for her hot shower.  She is such a diva.  C walked up and down the snow tracks on the road for hours and had to be drug in.  Everyone is sleeping right now resting up for round 2.  This Fl mama might just have to watch from the window.

Snowball fights.

There was tons of this...(notice his bare foot)

And lots of that...snowgirl down.

Our neighbors felt sorry for us since we don't have sleds and let us use theirs.
Happy Snow Day 2011!!!

  1. Oh my goodness! These pictures are great! Not just because your children are so stinking adorable, either. The quality is great! I am seriously considering taking a few photography classes.
